Tata Nexon 2025 Pricing Strategy Price Point- Competitive, Premium

The 2025 Tata Nexon carries a well-thought pricing that keeps the vehicle affordable while acknowledging its upmarket transformation.
Prices for the SUV starts at ₹7.99 lakh for the entry-level petrol Smart variant, while the top-end Fearless+ diesel automatic dual-tone paint variant is priced at ₹15.50 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
This pricing strategy places the Nexon in a competitive space and the product has additional features that justify the marginal premium over the outgoing model.
With sub-₹8 lakh sticker prices, the Nexon remains within reach of even first-time compact SUV buyers and we expect the brunt of the sales to be driven by the well-equipped mid-range variants.
Tata has also cleaned up the variant structure for 2025; now there are five main trim levels – Smart, Smart+, Pure, Pure+ and Fearless+ – with several powertrain options available for each.
This simplified portfolio helps the purchase process to be more convenient, but with enough models to satisfy the needs of all kinds of users.
Drivetrain Choices: Performance and Efficiency are Revved Up
The 2025 Nexon will still be offered with petrol and diesel engines, but those too get major upgrades.
The 1.2L turbo-charged petrol engine now delivers 120 PS (118 PS) and 170 Nm torque due to the recalibrated engine mapping and enhanced thermal management.
More importantly, on the mechanical front, is the addition of a new 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine good for 125 PS and 225 Nm.
This top-end powertrain will give more power with better efficiency and Tata indicates a 0-100 km/h time of 9.4 seconds.
The dependable 1.5-litre oil burner remains at 115 PS and 260 Nm, but a few tweaks to the intake system and the turbocharger mapping bring in sharper throttle response and a stronger low-end delivery of torque.
It also gets more gearbox options: a 6-speed manual, an improved 6-speed AMT and a new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic reserved just for the direct-injection turbo-petrol model.
The DCT version now solves one of the few complaints of the previous Nexon models, which is getting a world class automatic experience with the faster and smoother shifts.
Fuel Economy: Not A Single Compromise
The 2025 Nexon exhibits very good efficiencies over all the bands. The straight petrol claims ARAI-certified fuel economy of 17.8 km/l with the manual and 17.2 km/l with the AMT.
A new direct-injection turbo-petrol manages 18.5 km/l with a manual, and 17.9 km/l with the DCT – and these are great numbers for the kind of performance you can access.
The diesel options are still good, ranging at 24.1 km/l with the manual and 23.4 km/l with the AMT.
These numbers are enhancements of about 5-7% compared with the previous model, due to among others, optimizing body structure and improving driving dynamics.
Exterior Design: An Evolution with Meaning
There are thoughtful design updates that bring the 2025 Nexon right up to date without losing its identity.
Up front, there’s a new grille pattern with triangular motifs and new LED headlamps with updated daytime running light signatures, and a new bumper with larger air intakes for better cooling and aerodynamics.
Profile alterations cover revised 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with a more detailed design, body-colored door handles with an in-built illumination system and thinner roof rails.
In the back, there are linked rear LED taillights that offer a more upscale look for the tailgate.
There are seven color options to choose from, two of which are new: Pristine White and Flame Red. The two-tone roof option is still available on higher grades, increasing customizability.
Inside, it is well appointed with lots of upgrades.
The 2025 Nexon interior sees the biggest leap, with an all new dashboard design that is more horizontally oriented and looks a lot more premium.
It’s centered on a new 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, joined by a fully digital instrument cluster, also 10.25 inches wide.
The quality of materials used inside has improved significantly, with soft-touch materials residing on the dashboard and door panels, a range of leatherette upholstery options on higher trims, and ambient lighting with several different color choices.
Other features include a redesigned center console with better storage options, and a wireless charging pad that supports 15W fast charging.
Features that have been added includes ventilated front seats, six-way power adjustable driver seat, premium 9 speaker sound system done in partnership with Harman, air purifier with AQI display, and a panoramic sunroof that increases the sense of space inside the car.
Protection: Protection at All Levels
Nexon’s UNLEVELLED Safety aura remains unchanged, leveraging the goodwill of its predecessor being a 5-star GLOBAL NCAP rated car.
Safety features standard across the range are driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The higher trims can be had with 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring, blind spot monitoring, level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist.
This full safety suite places the Nexon way in front of most of its rivals.
Tech and Connectivity: Future-Proof
The iRA connected car tech has been updated for the 2025 model with access to over 100 voice commands, remote car access, warnings in case of vehicle theft, ability to create a geo fence for the car and track stolen vehicles.
The system also gets over-the-air updates for infotainment and car software, ensuring that the Nexon stays up-to-date with the latest tech for years to come.
Fast charging support on USB Type-C port remains the same and even the 9W reverse charging in the top end model stays.
Tata Nexon 2025 Market Position and Prospects
Being quite apparent, the 2025 Tata Nexon aspirations higher in its segment, providing features and technology not seen on other sub 4 metre SUVs that cost higher on the price chart.
In a bid to defend the Nexon and also entice potential buyers who may be looking at bigger, more expensive SUVs, Tata looks to have hit the sweet spot with the right combination of competitive pricing and premium features.
With these all-encompassing changes, the 2025 Nexon stands as a testament to Tata Motors’ unwavering focus towards product aesthetic and functional enhancement, by creating a new paradigm in the highly competitive segment of the compact SUV.”
